We had lots of fun this last week. Kaylee had her Christmas program and party at school. Santa also came to her school for a visit so that was fun. We also made gingerbread houses. JJ ate his whole gingerbread house within 4 hours of making it. He loves his sweets! We also got some free tickets to an Auburn basketball game yesterday. It was really fun. We sat 3 rows from the floor. Kaylee and JJ got on the big screen because they were so cute cheering for Auburn. Kaylee was sooo stinkin' cute there cheering like the cheer leaders. She watched what they did and then copied them. We also got to see some cool dunks and one crazy block. Fun times!

Grant is 1 now! He has seriously been the best baby. He is so sweet and has always been so good. His first couple months he just ate, they would just chill on the blanket for a while, then fall asleep on his own. He still plays so well on his own and boy does this kid love to eat! No food goes to waste in this house. He is getting so smart and still staying so sweet. I am so thankful to be his mom!

Kaylee's Fieldtrip

I went with Kaylee on her fieldtrip today to the farm. She went on a hay ride, little train ride, got to see some animals, and pick out a pumpkin. Her and Grant both had a really fun time. The weather was perfect today, the high was 78. Also, on the drive to farm I won two tickets to a concert from the radio station!

New Kitten Smore

We got a new kitten Smore. She has lots of energy. The kids are having a really fun time with her and I think Smore has fun with them. I think Grant is her favorite though. She likes to sneak up on him like he is her prey. She is very good with all the kids, no scratching or biting! Jeremiah dressed up like Johnny Appleseed for school. Someone on his bus called him a pothead. It was really funny when he told me that, but he was mad at the person. Fun times over here in Alabama.

First day of school

JJ and Kaylee had their first day of school today. They were both so excited. JJ really wants to ride the bus, so Im letting him do that. However, the bus did not come this morning which made things very hectic. I drove him to school and he made it right on time. I called the school and he is all set up to take the bus from now on. The bus driver stopped by the house this late morning to say sorry she missed him. She is a really nice older lady and her stopping by made me feel a lot better about him taking the bus. Kaylee had so much fun at school. Their was no crying. She was good and was fine with me leaving. Everything went pretty well today!

Matthias had his 28th birthday yesterday. My family and I have finally made him a Duke fan. He got a cute Duke shirt and shorts. We went mini golfing last night and had a really good time. Coming to the 18th hole I was down by one. Matthias shot a 3 on it, then I came up and got a hole in one and snatched the victory from him. Even on your birthday I don't let up! Anyway, he had a good day turning the big 28!

We are having lots of fun over here with the cousins and Amy. We went to the park today and the kids had a fun time. Then they all had a fun kid bath. I think there is room for a couple more!

And the fun has begun! Grant can get anywhere and loves to get into everything. It was so cute when we found him like this. He hasn't figured out he can get into the cupboards yet, which makes me very happy. He does like to stick his finger in the outlets. My other two didn't care about them, but Grant likes to just sit there and try to stick his finger in them. Grant is such a happy baby, its just crazy. He makes me want to have 10 kids, but then their are babies like Kaylee who take every ounce of patience from you. Its a gamble! I guess we will see what happens.

Free Food!

We went to Chick-fila for their dress like a cow and get a free meal. This is our third year doing it and it is always so much fun and a great deal. The last two years I've went with my sister and we had a file of all our cow stuff, but since I moved to Alabama I had to get my own stuff together. Fun times!

4th of July

Opelika had a really good 4th of July celebration on July 1. They had bouncer's for the kids, which JJ and Kaylee loved. They also had 4 sky divers who landed on the baseball filed right next to the football field we were on. That was pretty cool. They gave out free flags and Popsicles. The fireworks were really good. We were so close to them. As soon as the first one went off JJ got out of his seat and started running behind us and away. He thought the fireworks were going to get him. I had to go get him and have him sit on my lap, but still he wasn't sure if he was safe. We had a really good time!

Kaylee had Dance camp for a week. She had a really fun time and was totally worn out after it each day. She was so cute on the last day when they did their little performance. She did it with her friend in the ward and did a great job! JJ is doing T-ball right now. Matthias and I are coaching the team and having a really fun time out there. Jeremiah is getting better and better. Grant loves to crawl around the house following me all day yelling "maa maa maa" Its cute the first 10 minutes each day. The two pictures of him in his red shirt are us trying to keep him up at night, his hair was crazy and so was he!

We had a friend birthday party for JJ today. We got out the slip and slide, baby pool, a crazy sprinlker toy (he got last year from Matt and Cindy) and had some water balloons. That with the trampolin and it was a good time. JJ had lots of fun. We had lots of fun with lots of kids. I made a soceer ball cake that looked pretty good. It's just so hard to believe my little guy is turning 5. He has been such a joy to have in my life. He is getting so smart, maybe too smart. He is the best older brother to Kaylee and Grant. Easter

The Easter Bunny did find JJ, Kaylee, and Grant all the way over here in Alabama. We went to a really fun Easter celebration at the town square on Saturday. The kids got to make hats and ties, a plant, a cute Easter bag, made a cookie and treats to lay out for the Easter Bunny. They had free lemonade and cotton candy and a fun Easter egg hunt. It was a fun time for all. We had a little eater egg hunt on Sunday in out back yard and every egg was actually found. It was a nice Easter weekend!

Kaylee turned 3 today. What a crazy 3 years it has been. We are so happy to have our sweet little Kaylee here. She is so much fun and so sweet. We all know she has had her tantrums and endless crying moments, which I think lasted from 3months until she was just about 3, but now she rarely has them. We all love her so much and I'm so happy to be her mother. Happy Birthday Kayleee!!

Sweet Home Alabama

Here are some pictures of the outside of our house and the yard. Their is a bird nest in out carport. It has like 6 eggs in it so we took one out for a minute for the kids to check it out. They thought it was pretty cool. The mother bird is always keeping them warm everytime we come outside, but fly's away when we come out. Hopefully they hatch soon and we see the baby birds. That would be lots of fun. Last night there was a tornamdo watch for our county. We had lots of rain and wind and thunder and lightning. We had lots of branches brake off our tree in the front yard. The power went out for about 5 seconds. In some areas about 15 minutes away had power out all night and some still dont have power. Crazy stuff.

Fun at the Park

We went to the park for a little playgroup with people from my ward. It s a nice little park with a little stream. The kids had most fun at the stream. As you can see Grant was having way too much fun in the swing. He actually really enjoyed it. I found a different park from this one that was really cool. Lots of fun things. There was a woodpecker actually pecking the tree. Ive never seen one in real life so that was really fun for me. And it made me think why does it do that to the tree's? things are going very well here. Been very cold this last week. Registered my car with Alabama and it was $200 less than AZ a year, car insuranceis $22 less a month, pest service is $35 less every 3 months, water is about $10 less a month. I like that. However milk is $3 a gallon, thats the only thing I think that we really use that is a lot more than AZ.

Everything is going well over here in Alabama. Grant loves to eat his hands all day. If his pacifier isn't in his mouth then his hands are. He still has his chubby cheeks and is laughing and smiling all the time now. Jeremiah and Kaylee are having fun in the new house and with all their toys they have been without. Kaylee is doing really good with her potty training. Today is the second day. JJ keeps busy all day with his Nintendo and out back yard and playing with Grant.

Sea World and the beach

We went to San Diego a week a ago and enjoyed some nice weather. The kids had a fun time at Sea World and the the beach. We had to go see the sharks 4 times for JJ. They both were pretty good the whole time so that made for a nice vacation.

My little boy is 4! It makes me sad to see my sweet little boy growing up. He is so much and I am so lucky to be his mom. He is learning and growing so much, but he likes to snuggle with his mommy. He had a fun birthday party with all his cousins and aunts and uncles and grandparents. He also got to help make his soccer cake which he was very excited about.

Kaylee turned two yesterday. She got to go to McDonalds for lunch with cousin Hadley and then to Chuck E Cheese for dinner. Then we had a little family party that night. She had a really fun day. She is such a sweet little girl most of the time now. We are so blessed and happy to have our little Kaylee! At her party she wore a shirt that Amy and I made that said "I'm the big sister" This was our way of saying we have a baby on the way. It took a while before people figured it out, but it was fun.

Matthias' sister Anika got married in January. The kids had a fun time at the temple. JJ made it in the door of the temple but we got him right after that. Fun times!

Just before Christmas, JJ went to Lowes for thier free bulind class on Saturdays. He had a fun time and got saftey glasses, apron, name tag, and badge. He loved his gigerbread house!

We had another fun Halloween this year. We went to 3 trunk or treats and then we also had a fun party at my Dad and Beth's. The kids got lots of candy. Kaylee loves the candy and know's where I have it hidden. She takes me there and points. It's cute so I have to give her some. JJ asks for it all day everyday. Matthias dressed up as Daniel Boone for our little party, he sure looked the part. Beth and my Dad made some really good food, so that was lots of fun. Good times!

Best of Belron (Safelite Auto Glass)

Matthias competed in a competition at work this last weekend to see who is the best auto glass installer. He took second place in the southwest division, which includes Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico and some of CA. He only lost by half a point. He did so good, just got a little flustered on the door glass replacment. If he would have finished one minute earlier he would have won. All his "big" bosses were there and they were very happy with him. They think he is just so awesome. Matthias will hopefully get to managment within the next couple years.

Jeremiah turned 3 last Monday! My dad and beth were kind enough to let us have a pool party at their house. The weather was great. J.J. wasn't really in the mood for swimming though. He went in a little bit when we forced him. He got lots of fun presents and got to be with all his family. He had a little trouble blowing out the candles, he kept sucking in air instead of blowing out so it was pretty funny. It's crazy to think he ia already 3. He really is so much fun, I love being able to stay home and be with him everyday.

Kaylee's 1st Birthday Party

We had Kaylee's party yesterday at the park. It was a lot of fun to be out there together with all our family. We had pizza for dinner and then cake. Kaylee only enjoyed her cake for about 5 minutes, then she started screaming and she was done with all the party business! We are so happy we have been able to enjoy Kaylee this last year. She is so healthy now, which is such a blessing. It really is as if nothing ever happened to her. She is such a strong little girl, no life threatening birth defect will stop her! We also just want to say thank you to everyone for all their help this year and all the love and prayers!

We had a very fun Easter weekend. We had an Easter egghunt in the morning Saturday in the rain. Then that evening we went to Matthias' parents for dinner and another egghunt. Then Sunday we went to Amy and Andy's ward because they were speaking. They gave really good talks and helped us have the real Easter spirit. Then after church we had dinner and another egghunt with my family. We had a fun time being with family all weekend!

Snow Trip

We went up to Flagstaff this weekend to play in the snow. We had lots of fun up there in the cold. Kaylee did not care too much for the snow, but loved the hotel room. JJ had lots of fun in the snow going sleding, building a snowman, and throwing snowballs at Matthias. We also had the joy of getting stuck in the snow. We tried to pull off the main road and apparently there was not room to do that and the right side of the car was down in the snow. It seriously look like we were going to tip over. A nice lady stopped to try to help, but thought we should call a tow truck because she thought we would tip over also. And then guess what happened... a tow truck just came along. We luckily had a hook on the back of our car and he pulled us out. We were so lucky!! Even with that and Kaylee crying most the time in the snow we had a really good time.

Bart and Josefine came for 3 weeks! We had lots of fun hanging out with them. All the kids especially get excited. Josefine is pregnant with a little boy. We are excited to see him when they hopefully come back in September. We miss Bart and Josefine a lot, but we were so happy to have them here.

We had a wonderful Christmas season. We we're able to spend lots of time with family and friends, which is always lots of fun. It is so nice to have family so close by. We are so thankful for our families and for all their help and love. We are especially thankful for all the help we have recieved this last month with my little hospital stay and all my doctor appointments!!! We truly are so lucky to have such great families!

Three days of Halloween!

Jeremiah and Kaylee got to enjoy three nights of Halloween. We went to our ward trunk or treat, Mathhias' parents ward, and Amy and Andy's . We also went trick or treating for a little bit in my Dad's neighborhood. It was a fun time. JJ loved being a frog and Kaylee just looked so cute as a bunny. Im lucky to have a sister with older kids so i can use her costumes!. JJ asked a couple times since halloween if we can go trick or treating... I think he now understands we are all done with that now.

Kaylee got her ears pierced about 2 weeks ago. It really didnt bother her too much. She cried because I had to hold her held still, but once I let go she stopped crying. She looks so cute with them. The pictures don't show them that well, but just know she looks cute!

Jeremiah went on his first camping trip 2 weeks ago. He had a really fun, except for the rain. It scared him for about 10 minutes. Matthias, his dad, and Matthias' brother Parley went on the little trip. Kaylee and I had a nice relaxing night, just the two of us.

Matthias had his 25th birthday on August 12. The day before we went and got a new car, a 2008 Honda Piolt. We love it! That night we also went bowling with Matthias' brother Tristan and his girl. We had a fun time, but were so tired that night from all the haggling with the car salesman. On Matthias' actual birthday we just relaxed. We planned to go golfing, but were too tired. We went out to eat that night and then we had family over for some ice cream, Matthias doesnt care too much for cake. He got lots of good stuff and had a really nice two days off work.

Jeremiah, Austin and Carter had too much fun wrestling with their great Uncle Rick. Uncle Rick and my cousin also came to visit last weekend. The wrestled for about an hour. Im sure Rick felt the pain from it the next morning. The little boys showed no mercy. It was fun to watch.

Grandpa and Grandma Mendonca

My Grandparents came and visited last week. They got to see their newest great grandchild, Kaylee. We all went out to eat Friday night and then Saturday we had a tummy Thanksgiving dinner in August. They live about 11 hours away and they dont like the heat (who does?) so we dont get to spend that much time with them, so it was really nice to see them.

Grandma had her 73rd birthday yesterday. We went over to her house for dinner, swimming, and cake. We all had a very fun time together. Jeremiah always finds something in great grandma's house to play with, and she always lets him take it home. Soon our house will be just like grandma's house use to be!

Hadley and JJ look so cute and innocent here and alone they are that way, but when you put them together they are wild. Hadley doesnt normally play with balls, but when JJ is playing with it she has to have it. JJ also loves to take her purses and play dress up with her. They are so cute , but they can also drive you nuts.

Kaylee had her baby blessing on July 6, 2008.

She looked so beautiful in her white dress. We feel so lucky she is doing so well. She is such a joy to have in our home, although she still likes to complain about her surgery with lots of crying. I will take the crying and fussiness anyday over going to the hospital every day to see her!

Kaylee enjoyed her first 4th of July. We went swimming, had some yummy BBQ food and watched the fireworks... well Jeremiah was afraid of the fireworks so he had to go in the house with Matthias. He kept saying he wanted to go back home. Mabey next year he will enjoy them more and Kaylee will be afraid. All around we had a very fun 4th of July!

Well 7 weeks later I finally have my baby home with me. It has been hard on everyone but we got through it and we couldn't be happier to have our little girl home with us. She is so cute and smiles all the time. Jeremiah still isn't too sure about her but he has moments when he wants to be a helper to her. He puts her diapers in the garbage and tries to feed her bottles.
